Jerry,

Apologies for missing one part of your question. You asked which songs
we were talking about. The ones I know of recently are

1) The Fall's "Blindness" (not an old song at all) for the Mitsubishi
Outlander Express: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_3eBFjCNIo

That YouTube link is a link to the commercial. I didn't upload it, nor
did I title it "The mighty Fall sell out," which is what the uploader
chose to call the clip.

2) The Buzzcocks "Everybody's Happy Nowadays" used in a US TV sport for
AARP, a political lobbying group for senior citizens:

My original question was if the commercial using "Jet Boy Jet Girl" was
on YouTube (I'd like to see it), but no one was available to provide a
URL. Oh well, maybe it hasn't been uploaded. Biafra turned down Levi's
for an ad that was to use a DK song; Minor Threat/Fugazi/Dischord turned
down Nike shoes for a promotional campaign ripping off the cover of
Minor Threat's LP. (That story is here:
http://www.tinypineapple.com/chris/archives/minor_threat_vs_major_threat.html)

These guys aren't powerless, and if they've signed creative control
away, well, that reflects on them. The Fall couple with an Outlander
Sports Utility Vehicle just blows my mind. Like I said, "Discharge's
"Never Again" for Windex would be a good theme too.

-Oliver
