To add to that...the 'States supported Saddam's regime in the war vs Iran,
during and after his use of chemical weapons...hardly a very ethical thing
to do is it, also hardly a valid reason to turn against the guy. Also
makes it hard to pretend you have the moral high-ground...unless of course
you have batallions of PR lairs and media whores at your disposal...and
millions of credulous morons lapping it up.
