I think evolution is only interested in what works/survives. I mean, it's only a mechanism & as such doesn't differentiate: survival is all.

The theory that evolution has "skipped hosts" or at least found another
medium to work in, outside of organic life, and now works in ideas, is a
pretty crafty one. I don't see any reason why not. Not that I know fark
all about it.

In terms of losing natural skills, I never knew how to find water in the
first place...but I've got a pretty good built-in rum and bourbon compass
though...
