Closest relativesbe fair radiohead are at least trying to do something different, with kid a, and TY's solo album

at the moment i can only think of 2 mainstream artists who're trying new stuff
radiohead and mike patton

ps: radiohead can't be held responsible for the crap indie bands who try to copy them just as fnm can't be held responsible for nu-metal ;-)

    I think that PiL must go down as a close relative to the Jokers, mainly down to Wobble's dubby bass, but also due to the intransigent nature of the respective vocalists, both experimental in the face of more populist leanings from their peers (though latterly less so) and both carving out an inimitable style that has prompted many to 'have a go'. On that note I wonder who will have a similar influence in 20 years time from today's crop of mutants...
