  I think that PiL must go down as a close relative to the Jokers, mainly
down to Wobble's dubby bass, but also due to the intransigent nature of the
respective vocalists, both experimental in the face of more populist
leanings from their peers (though latterly less so) and both carving out an
inimitable style that has prompted many to ‘have a go’. On that note I
wonder who will have a similar influence in 20 years time from today’s crop
of mutants...
