Saw the Pogues at the Fillmore last night (just starting to recover....). It was more or less the show I never thought I'd see, as I love t he Pogues and it's been 15 years.Absolutely awesome, Shane Macgowen *did* play and was fucked up the whole time (not news, I'm sure). He was quite slurry, but overall did ok - he and Spider Stacy were arguing throughout....

Their set was just about as good as it can get with (in rough sequence): "If I should fall from grace with God, Bottle of Smoke, Turkish song of the Damned, Boys from county hell, Body of an american, Thousands are sailing, Sunny side of the street", and on the first encore (there were two) Shane and a girl (can't recall her name) sang "Fairytale of New York"............ The band ripped and was full of energy with 3/4 of the original lineup, I think they're going to LA next. It cost an arm and a leg ($75.00 w/ticketmaster bs), but I'd go see them again in a heartbeat! Great show.

.....off to work, believe it or not! (I only had 6 beers, w/ dinner and pints before). ; )

  -Tom.

as she slowly blew her smoke out of the rear wind vent
she thought back on all the letters she'd sent.......
