EEEEErrrr no they were nt. In the dark ages females meant only one thing . 
The hijab and full body covering were worn to stop men seeing females faces 
and figures and thus stopping the Males sexual urges . That is primarily the 
reason why women wore them .

     Men still cannot control all their urges even to this day. There was no 
such thing as womens equality back in the dark ages. When I say dark ages I 
dont mean a specific time period , just a long time a go, before computers
