[kj] ****SPAM**** Jaz's vocals and lyrics

I was always into vocalists since early 70s and Plant provided the most exhilarating moments in rock for me for years - never heard anyone get that close in innovation until JC and he did it for me big time in Tomorrows World, FoB and Chapter III in particular.

To answer your question, yes JC still has spine tingling moments for me (you know, those sublime bits that make you wonder 'how the fuck did he think of that') namely Inferno which is pretty much perfect, as well as Seeing Red and Judas Goat - incidently these 3 are recent ones when he doesn't scream all the way through - also an unashamed fan of the vocals on Total Invasion, his approach matches Geordie's nu metal riff perfectly.

Lyrically, they may be A level quality these days but the content hasn't changed from the first 3 albums and I reckon that is an equal part to the band as everything else.

cheers

Rob

Welcome George.

Rob - do you think Jaz is *still* an innovative vocalist? And do you think the lyrics are still fine?

I think until he started growling Jaz was excellent vocally (though probably not "innovative")... these days he sounds like all too run-of-the-mill.

The lyrics were great until about 1984. Since then, too many words, not enough quality control.
