I think what first attracted me to Ministry was their gradual swing towards
the aggressive. I still think WITH SYMPATHY (which, I believe, Jourgensen
still refers to as "the abortion") is a great record (albeit VERY much of
its silly era). But I think the transitional albums between their
synth-pop/dance music period and their current none-more-black very metal
noise pollution phase (which continues today) are the most interesting
records in their catalog. I'm talking specifically about TWITCH and THE LAND
OF RAPE AND HONEY. As far as I'm concerned, they haven't really brought
anything new to the table since PSALM 69. Some fine, heavy, aggro moments,
but I miss their experimental spark. I'd love to hear Al try something new
again.
