Well christmas was Yuletide, and Easter was Eostre.
Some of this does smack a bit of the boy crowley. ;]

And I remember another interview way back where he implied he decided to pursue choir on his own, independent of his parents, to see what it was all about and then learned how all the priest vestments reflected old pagan seasonal traditions.

I'm probably botching it a bit, but even my shaky memory is a shade more reliable than Jaz's, er... recollection...of things at any given moment.

-Jiri, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end...

Jaz mentioned that he was from an atheist family.

Another example of Mr Coleman rearranging the past to meet his current beliefs? In an Interview from around the time of Year Of The Devil he had this to say: "I became religious, because I heard choir music and my parents were into religion, my whole family. And then I went to those cathedral choirs and to the International Youth Orchestra, on international festivals, this all before I was twelve. But what I really loved was the religious aspect to music, which is that it isn't for any gain or any worth and yet it fills some space inside you. And I loved to do that even when I was older. Even though I am pictured as a devil, I am still the man who believes in God" http://www.negativ.cz/rokdabla/cast.en/coleman/interview2.html They don't sound atheist there do they? :o)

In the last interview with Jaz posted on the Gathering about two weeks ago, Jaz mentioned that he was from an atheist family. But it's generally known that when he was a kid he was in a choir. So I thought, if they were atheists, why would his mum and dad send him off to sing in a church choir? If he did something like that of his own accord, then what a sissy! I bet he did a great Silent Night though. However, then it occured to me that there are choral societies that do secular music, so maybe that explains it. In terms of his ordination to the priesthood, anybody know what denomination, or other details? nick In the name of the father, Son and the holy spirit. _______________________________________________ Gathering mailing list Gathering at miser
