And I remember another interview way back where he implied he decided to 
pursue choir on his own, independent of his parents, to see what it was 
all about and then learned how all the priest vestments reflected old 
pagan seasonal traditions.

I'm probably botching it a bit, but even my shaky memory is a shade more 
reliable than Jaz's, er... recollection...of things at any given moment.
