Not me. I like what I like based on whether or not my brain determines it to be good, not based on how popular or obscure it is.

cos it's their best known tune, and got a hell of a lot of exposure. that level of exposure can put one off a song; or it does me anyway. Bob

Not a damn thing wrong with a catchy tune. "Change", for instance.

Bit rushed when I wrote that. What I meant was the 'mass' often 'dig the beedles' cos they're told how great they are by the media/record labels, and hey the songs are catchy. That's why I hate them and anything like them - it's why punk started for fekk's sake.

Consider this:

Beatles Recond Label - Apple

Killing Joke's record label - Malicious Damage.

See?

Why would you let other peoples' opinions determine your own?

exactly. don't we all operate on the principle that greater appeal normally means extreme shitness, with I grant you the odd exception (Hendrix, Stones). The Beatles were very huge, and were therefore hugely crap. Right?

"Dancing Queen" is fucking dire, but "S.O.S" is great (and also the source for the central riff from the `Pistols' "Pretty Vacant" --- FACT!)

I like Abba. SOS, Dancing Queen and
Knowing Me, Knowing You are perfect pop songs.
