Dear Alex,

Unfortunately since the 29 sept 03, I'm suffering from a "small" tinnitus on my
right ear.
As I was on the side of the stage filming Killing Joke's show at the Elysée
Montmartre in Paris ( just close to the drums kit between Raven and Nick Walker
) i've decided to move for the encores much more closer to the front of the
stage.
But my new strategic position was just close the back amplifiers and I will
always remember what an Asteroid means....
It gave me immediately a pain in the ear and as I was filming I couldn't let my
camera and protect my ears with my hands.
But with the excitment of the night, I din't feel anymore the pain except the
day after when we were listening to "news" on the car radio ( and it wasn't
loud at all !!!!)

The sound kept ringing in my ears for 2 days so I decided to see Specialists and
particularly one who was in charge of one of my friend who was born without any
ears ( don't laugh it's possible ha ha ha)
He has confirmed that I had lost a frequency ( 4800 Htz if I remember well) and
gave a little treatment ( some pills ) and said to avoid thinking on the famous
ringing BECAUSE your brain can reproduce a sound that doesn't exist anymore !!!

Since this day I always use special earplug for musicians to go to concerts ( 30
€uros ) and when the ringing comes again I simply concentrate and say to myself
that this sound doesn't exist and it works ( maybe because I was "lucky" and
didn't suffered from a high tinnitus )

This event might have disgust me from Music and the joke for ever....
