As much as I adore both bands, I don't hear ANYthing in common between KJ and AC/DC, though.

I'm not a musician, so I cannot supply the proper terminology, but I can oddly hear a bit of a similarity between Geordie and Eddie Van Halen -- not in the soloing department, obviously, but in the actual sound of their instrument (harmonics?) Someone -- Fluw? -- might be able to corroborate this better, but listen to, say, "Unchained" on FAIR WARNING by Van Halen and there's a similar texture to the guitar sound there, I think. Or not, perhaps I'm projecting.

He does seem to admire some soloists. Mind you, apparently he's a Tom Verlaine fan, though I can't see much of a connection between KJ and the sprawling oddball theatrics of 'Marquee Moon', as marvellous as that track is.

Funny thing about Geordie, though: he generally eschews solos and evidently hates them (so sayeth Jaz), yet -- according to Big Paul -- he was a big fan of Van Halen and AC/DC (two bands RENOWNED for their guitar solos).
