[kj] Revolver Mag - heaviest bands

Okay, two things:

1. First of all, fuck does REVOLVER know about *ANYTHING*? Answer:
Not one damn thing. Written by snot-nosed, acne-speckled dinks who
think the sun rises and sets on piffle like Slipknot.

2. As you suggest, "heavy" is a relative term. When I think "heavy,"
i think LOW END. I think bottom-heavy bass. While I love Slayer, I've
always found them missing a bit of swing on the bass end. They're
simply more treble-friendly than (vintage) Soundgarden (circa LOUDER
THAN LOVE), who had way more of an **OOOMPH* to their sound. Thus,
Soundgarden are heavier. Yes, Soundgarden were also more melodic and
more accessible than Slayer, but still heavier.

To me, anyway.

Both great bands, though I think Slayer could probably get ready to
hang it up (though rumor has it that Rick Rubin is back to produce
their next one, with Lombardo back on drums).

My two heavy cents.
