Hello Music Lovers,

Who do I have on the show for your viewing pleasure this week!?

Scottish rockers Texas return to the scene after a break with a new album
'Red Book'. Sharleen Spiteri fronts these groovy melodic Glaswegians. I'll
be talking to Sharleen and catching up with all her news since I saw her
last.

Sean Paul is the worldwide ambassador of dancehall reggae. With his last
landmark album 'Dutty Rock' Sean sold 6 million copies and won an armful of
Grammys to boot. With his new record 'The Trinity' Sean has high hopes of
achieving the same level of success. I'm really glad he's back in the Later
studio.

Salif Keita is sometimes called the "golden voice of Africa". Born in Mali
his music blends the traditional griot music of his childhood with other
West African influences along with sounds from Cuba, Spain and Portugal to
create a sound which has an overall Islamic feel to it. He's bringing a
rather tall chap to dance with him as well – keep an eye out for him. He's
spectacular!

Pete Doherty was still a Libertine the last time he was on Later. But we
welcome him back with his new band Babyshambles, who have just released
their debut album 'Down In Albion', which was, incidentally, produced by The
Clash's Mick Jones.

We like a bit of pedigree on Later and this week I'm glad to welcome the
offspring of folk royalty. Like the Wainwright siblings, Martha and Rufus,
Teddy Thompson comes from an impressive folk lineage, his mother and father
being 60s successful folk couple Linda and Richard Thompson. Teddy is
undoubtedly talented in his own right and he'll be performing two tracks
from his new critically acclaimed album, 'Separate Ways'.

Making his TV debut is human beat boxer Shlomo, he's a young man from Leeds
who can do amazing things with his voice and a microphone. Make sure you
check him out!

This week I'll also be chatting to Noddy Holder from Slade!

Tune In!

Friday 18th November on BBC 2 at 11.35pm

Lots of love,

Jools x
