[kj] Pigface? ... and more futile attempts at defending the Damage Manual

Mind you, I liked the recent-ish Damage Manual album "Limited Edition" (although this title does invite gags to the effect that they wouldn't need to reel off too many copies, because who's going to buy it, eh? EH ... ? Go on, bring it on, you know you want to ...) The double cd of remixes has some good moments on it too. As for Pigface, it still strikes me that this eclectic lineup makes for a interesting prospect. This is probably an odd attitude to take, but I like the element of chance about a gig, nice to be pleasantly surprised sometimes ... some gigs I've gone to that I've had misgivings about have been great. And vice versa ... this "artistic collaborations with people in their prime" thing - obviously seeing people at the top of their game is fantastic, but your expectations can be higher, and often it can turn out to be a bit cosy - and sometimes because they're the men (or women) of the moment, complacency and arrogance kicks in, and they don't make the effort - and
as for "people needing work" - fuck yeah, we all do, I doubt many of the musicians discussed on this site are so well set that they just play for the hell of it, would say that's a bit misty eyed ...

true artistic collaborations with people in their prime. This lineup, like
others, seems more like people needing work.
2. $15 is average compared to today's sad standards BUT usually the pigface
lineup consisted of at least 10 people if not much more.
3. Martin Atkins is not the drummer he used to be. Stamina, age something.
I saw him for the Damage Manual tour a few years back and he is just
not...En Esch used to always be entertaining but I cannot speak of recently.

I would consider this more of a Pigfarce.
