[kj] OT - Bass play

It can sound great IF you play higher up the neck to compliment the
doubling of the lows and have a reasonable amp / speaker system to play
it through. (by reasonable I mean big!)

Also the music has to have 'space' for the effect because it can get
lost in the mix easily. It's usually a good idea to run the effect
output through a separate channel of a mixer so that it can be tweaked
to bring it out a little better.

I would steer clear of cheaper octave dividers as they usually sound
dreadful - imagine farting in mud and you'll get the idea!

Cheers
Pat

Anyone play bass? Raven around..? Youth.....?
I'm curious as to how a bass guitar would sound if an Octave
pedal were used and played an entire octave lower? What's a good
cheapie-brand(Boss?)?
Can you even hear it, or do we enter the subsonic realm of
whale-calls?
I actually have two basses and was gonna combine'em - one
normal, one low (dropped an octave), and see if it's worth it.

As the masters rot on walls
And the angels eat their grapes
I watched picasso
visit the planet of the apes
