Well, so do I, and if I was pressed to describe the Stranglers to 
someone who'd never heard of them, one of the first words to come out 
of my mouth would invariably be "punk," but in terms of the 
Taliban-like orthodoxy of Punk Rock, they certainly deviated from the 
norms, did they not?
