BSE nights were as moving as possible for old bastards as us, been washed up by beer and my docs were covered with spits & shit. But that's mosh law, if you don't want to suffer it, don't go in ! I reckon it was really friendly regarding to gigs I've been in the eighties (stranglers, clash, Kj, 4skins, Peter & Test Tubes B., french punk bands...)
Btw, I was so happy to see & exchange with all gatherers I met. For those that put their pictures on the net: nice job !
I only met nice girls & lokes. Maybe Stephane will put his own pictures & films on the net until 2012, I will then have chance to see my lips saying 'B A S T A R D' before I lose my teeth.
3 gigs were particulary violent in Lyon in the early eighties:
The Jam, I got seriously hurt in the face by a mod's helmet thrown in front of the venue, large fights during the all gig between mods & punks.
Pil, security guy was stabbed by a punk, many other arrested by cops, me not ....
Lords of the New Church, riot in the venue between skinheads & rest of the audience, many victims, me rushed away.
But the only gig that Mighty Paul Fenec (Meteors's front man) did, was rough but did'nt give any place to unfriendly fights between the local crowd and the hord of english, fully tatooed and half naked fans. And his daddy was a vampire.
