Wagner is excellent if you get in to the story. Neitsche and Wagner fell out 
big time with the way Wagner finished the Ring and this stuff was 
inspirational to people who were later to change dramatically the course of 
history. James Ravenscroft's Spear Of Destiny gave a good background to it, 
although someone may give a better alternative.
 Its not about trying to be cultured, its about experiencing something so 
powerful. I wouldnt listen again to it - at least rightnow - but i did enjoy 
it when i got into the opus.
