[kj] OT Firewater

Hiya Chris.....

Some updates re: Firewater.

1. SONGS WE SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN is indeed out -- and has been for some time. It's pretty good. Not essential, but cover collections rarely are. The cover of "This Town" is awesome (made famous by Sinatra), but the band's trek through "Hey Bulldog" is dubious.

2. JetSet didn't push it for a number of reasons -- most of them financial, but some of them personal as well. Suffice to say, the band and the label are not exactly close these days.

3. Don't hold your breath waiting for new Firewater music. I had dinner with Tod last Wednesday night. It was a going away party. He left Friday for Bangkok, Thailand to go teach English as a Second Language. He's been quasi-offered to do some soundtrack work in the future, but that's on the back burner of an entirely different stove. Firewater itself? He had some new music in demo format, but he doesn't seem to be pursuing it. It may be all over for Firewater as a going concern, I'm very sad to report.

This queston is probably geared more towards Alex inNYC but here goes.
Whatever became of the release "The Songs We Should Written" by Firewater?
I heard about prior to its release and last night I looked it up and it
seems that it has been out for almost a year now. What is the deal on that?
Did Jetset not push it at all? I do not even see a mention of it on the
web site. I heard a few tracks and it seems to be good. And what is the
state of Firewater? Together, down, depressed, elated, etc.

Thanks
Chris
