 Bottom line for me is that even if he was a total bastard, State-sanctioned 
 killing is just wrong. 

I'm not a big supporter of the death penalty because of the potentiality of error by the court... But every so often there is a case where the facts are clear and the crimes so atrocious; I think, "Yeah, it's time to thin the heard".
