Is there really a 'secret conspiracy'? Perhaps not in the accepted sense of either word, since it seems public knowledge that most governments rely upon the ignorance of the population and that those with money seek power as well. The idea of a shadowy organisation pulling the strings from the darkness behind the throne seems somewhat over-dramatic.
