[kj] worst ever poll

well...the term "punk" was used by a NYC fanzine that was created before the
Sex Pistols existed. So in that sense yes you could say that the media
created it. But barely.
And Malcolm was in NYC during the Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, etc. era.
So it is true that he took the whole thing and ran with it. The infamous
white Les Paul played by Steve Jones was a payoff from Sylvain Sylvain (of
the New York Dolls) to Malcolm Mclaren (who managed and wrecked the Dolls in
Yoko Ono fashion) who then passed it along to Steve Jones. So he knew what
he was doing. Even copying the tatered shirts of Richard Hell to Johnny
Rotten.
"New Wave" was a marketing ploy by the record companies to sell punk to the
masses.
Geordie and Jaz constantly talk about the Pistols as their ignition to the
punk world. BUT Jaz is also of the musical side that does not like Blues
music. Not sure about Geordie

There you go
