[kj] OT: Dimebag shot dead on stage.

FOX News had a segement a little while ago on this. Typically, the Fox news guy went about demonizing metal on a whole, citing its inarguable connections to violence, drugs and death (which is a completely irresponsible way of addressing the issue). To his credit, Rolling Stone's Joe Levy (sheepishly) corrected him, saying that if anything, metal/hard rock serves more to act as cathartic release than to encourage violence. "BUT HIS NAME IS 'DIMEBAG', AS IN DRUGS!" said the Fox guy. People are so fucking, fucking, fucking stupid.

If anyone has any way of getting in touch with R A V E N, can they please tell him to get in touch with me soonest? I'm adding some reporting to the news item TIME is doing on this incident, and being that R A V E N knows/knew some of the parties involved, his input would be a plus. Thanks.

Cheers,
Alex in NYC

You know, I have been to so many punk gigs and never in my life have I
experienced any of that. except one time a cholo in east l.a. pulling a gun out on
the owner joe vex of the vex in 1983 and was tackle by security outside. and
the occassional stabbing or fight.

what goes through people's skull beats the shit out of me. it is just so
fucked up that it could happen to anyone. - Lonely Boy

Keep in mind, Raven 's also friends with these guys. I sent him notice
about an hour after I heard.

What kind a fucked up, deranged world is it where you go to play or see
a show and get shot?
