*I think the majority of peoples misery stems from the fact that they
are told what makes them happy and they try to follow it,I d prefer a walk
in the wilderness to getting pissed in a pub ,Others prefer getting pissed
than a wilderness walk.So you must deicide what you like then do it.
Roman did get an education ,University I believe. But You are falling in
the usual gathering rigmarole of ;Someone makes a general statement,And
someone else uses an unusual extreme to the contrary.
Yes there are exceptions to every rule(or statement)I talk about
general terms. And I said ,If you are uneducated you have less options than
an educated person,I did nt say the uneducated one would get no options at
all*
"So you must deicide what you like then do it." That's my point though isn't it. How can you really decide unless you have done both or at least seen the wider picture in order to choose. You probably cant and so therefore we need to accept this and recognise that a decision on choice is a limiting option that opens more avenues than closing doors
"Someone makes a general statement, And someone else uses an unusual extreme to the contrary." Only if the statement adds to a consensus that isn't necessarily considered. Ok im getting smart arsed about this and I don't want to. I asked what choice is against a flippant tirade about fat people. The thing is while it's easy to pick on obvious targets we tend to do so in order to camoflague our own discrepancies, our own shortcomings against a conceived ideal that really isn't there except to keep us subservient.
believe (i b4 e)... be lie ve.
*I take it as a sign of self-doubt,when people start correcting others
spelling,Kinda like : Im clever you re not,In the same way when people feel
threatened they let slip they do martial arts* ;-)
then you misunderstand me, the correction was to show the origin of the word. Belief systems are falsehoods. I see this as being fundamental to what Crowley attempted (I don't know if he succeeded), what punk (not the sex pistols grab the cash and sell the clothes type punk) and ultimately what, to me, a lot of what killing joke is about. If you believe in something and the truth comes along and smacks you in the face then you have to ignore the truth otherwise the belief structure becomes defunct. House built on sand.
Martial arts refernce: I liked that, made me chuckle. Im serious though. Its Bruce Lees philosophy of JKD manifested in his protégé Daniel Inosanto who im lucky enough to train with. It was relevant to my point and is my life, so since this is typed words you cant get hurt from me saying this.
*I dismiss all previous people to inhabit the Earth as being inferior to
modern day man,Thus what the thought was irrelevant,But I also believe
future generations will look back on us in a dim way*
Jonestown sign (yeah the one with the mass killing and released by PTV as a recording - luvely picture disk). If you don't learn from the past you are bound to repeat it................................bound or condemned?
* but it s only you thats changed People going to gigs for the first time
proberly get the same buzz you once got,It's to do with experiencing new
things .The answer is to experience new and various things.Go forward move
on(Still attend KJ gigs of course)But no things are never as good second
time around*
so, the question rises why do them? If we have choice and this is our one opportunity to do it to our liking why go to something that is almost stale? Then again if you went to the bridge throughout the 80's you may still be asking that question for years to come! ; )
but why do we accept second best in order to fit in to other peoples expectations, if we do at all?
* Personally I don't smoke ,aint got a mobile(I hate telephones)and not
fat,We have no choice ,but to live with the consequences of our actions,You
can lie back and think i never got a proper education ,So my choices will
be restricted ,but i ll make the most of my situation.*
ha! - just wanted to put in another kj refernce ; ) - again I wish to disagree. While I 'concur' with what you say I must question the restricted. Again, its only restricted if you accept the rules someone else makes. If you measure yourself against other peoples values. Why do they make those rules or values but to keep us in apparent subterfuge when in truth there is none. If, as you say, its one life one chance then what makes it necessary to play to the rules.
I referred to Krishnamurti b4. he was raised in India with the intention of being the next christ. On tour in the US at the beginning of the 1900's he saw a workman hammering a stake into the ground while laying the railway. He says he saw that moment changed him and he abandoned his path and made a new one. Worth reading into but there's plenty of other examples.
Pssyche ...(you can)Dodge the bullets or carry the gun! the choice is yours
< Cheers PW 1970 Cup Final. Blue I hope.>
You know the answer to that already so why ask! ; )
I prefer this Peter West than to the other one! ; 0
