At worst, we would have to stick to the latest version of SCons supporting Python 2.7

For the record, we use SCons for the Computational Crystallography Toolbox (cctbx). Our SConscript call some configuration module of ours that are also used at runtime by the tools we developed. That code of ours will remain Python 2.7 for at least a couple of years.
