Raven was not only a member but also a diehard fan of Killing Joke and gave this extra menacing energy when live.
Regarding the alleged desire of Geordie to update the rhythm section, it only makes me respect the man and mourn his passing more.
There was mileage in the band but it was descending into nostalgia territory (just like everybody else) and it needed a shake up.

    Hi Jerry,
Yes I know what you mean about Raven.

My favorite line up was the Extremities line up.

I found some photos of the 2003 MS1 gig last month,

There's a cracking photo of Raven and a good one of Jaz and Geordie is smoking a fag!

But guess what I put them somewhere safe and I cant find them now!

I agree too. To some extent KJ died for me with Raven. Going back to the original line-up in the long term just didn't do it for me. Now, without Geordie, the creative foil to Jaz's excesses has gone

I agree. I love tracks 4-6 inclusive on the 07 demos and the long 11 minute track.
Faction Strasse I think is brilliant too.

Reading some of the posts on facebook it looks like any goodwill between the band members has gone...

As much as I like/respect Jaz and how important he is to KJ, for me the band died with Geordie. The only chance to create any new material would be taking pieces of Geordie‘s existing demos and arranging/writing new songs around them. Other than that, no way.
As sad as this is, I fully agree with Alex: KJ without Geordie doesn’t make sense.

There seems to be a variety of accounts of what had transpired prior to Geordie's untimely passing. I want to say BPF suggested that things fell apart BEFORE they realized their plan to re-enter the studio, although he did not expound on what that exactly meant.

I still have a very hard time conceiving of Killing Joke without Geordie. It simply does not make any sense to me.

I was surprised to read about Geordie not wanting to continue with the original line up. Someone here mentioned the album had already been recorded. I thought they were to go into the studio... but sadly Geordie passed. Get Outlook for Android
