I think I remember seeing the Brickwalled Earbleeders opening for the Butthole Surefers in1987.

It’s a bit of a brickwalled ear-bleeder and because it was produced digitally, a bit too unnaturally “tight” but yes, it’s their best sounding album since Pandemonium.

I'm not by any means an expert in sound production or engineering, but am I right in saying that, in this regard, the best 21st century Killing Joke album is indeed 2003? Sludge and mud free.
