[kj] how is everyone?

Detroit is quite and still. Everyday feels like Sunday. In the way that people are inside resting for the upcoming week, or hungover from the night before or somber from returning from the place of worship.
The last few days have been nicer with the weather so a lot of people out walking, bicycling and the like. It seems that 75% of those out are wearing some sort of masks and of those at least 50% are either wearing it wrong (down on their chin not covering nose or mouth) or are completely wrong in structure (so worn and dirty or construction type). But it doesn’t matter. It’s more about piece of mind.
My 6 (almost 7) year old daughter is taking it wonderfully. Doing great with school work and projects. Has been wanting to ride the bike a lot so we go to a parking lot that is normally filled with cars for cubicle slaves.
My work allows to work from home anyway so not a big transition. It took some adjusting having others home with me. My smarter-half is in academia and it’s been a chore as her work requires physical interaction (chemistry dept. at U of D) but she’s getting the hang of it. Only time will tell if she gets laid off after the semester is over.
I worry for other (older) family members but so far the anxiety gets lost in the fun that we are having here in the house.

Cheers and be safe
Chris in Detroit

And in particular, our NY gatherers. Sounds particularly grim over there.

Here on the outskirts of London, everything seems a strange combination of normal and weird. Normal because we're all fine and getting on with life, weird because everything feels like it's on hold.
