[kj] KJ US Dates

I'm with you, Alex. The Punk Rock Bowling thing seems like a bit of a waste and too "fake". Some past bands, and now KJ, surprised me being on the lineup - it must pay well.

Thanks, Kevin

I've seen the ads. Along with Killing Joke comes storied
San Francisco band Flipper with David Yow of the Jesus
Lizard filling in for the deceased Will Shatter, for those
 who care.
Seeing Killing Joke in Las Vegas is a cognitive
disconnect, though -- and the whole "punk rock
bowling" is just a little too NOFX/pop-punk bullshit
 for my taste.
I picked up the lyric book back in November at
the Oxford Academy gig --- it is indeed a lovely
 artifact.

 Hey fellow Gatherers.    So.
where are these dates coming from...what source?
I was alerted about the Las Vegas date by some
vague app my wife has on her phone...   I tried to
get Tix but it was semi affiliated with the Punk Rock
Bowling Fesitval maybe?    It required some
password bullshit.   then I signed up for some
account with the tix seller....then I was in digital line
waiting and I got my turn and 4 mins but the password
bullshit came up again.  There was absolutely no
information on how to actually obtain tix.  so I said
fuck this... with justification that would have been a
costly trip to Vegas for the sole purpose of seeing KJ and
many  casual non Gatherer types would likely annoy
 me.     So.  with that said...if
anyone's got sources on when and where KJ will come to
the US in May please post it here as soon as you coul-- that
would be so very kind as You Know...ITs Killing Joke!
They--bless their souls-- are the worst marketeers for
themselves at their own peril and ours!
Plus...I'd like to get shit face drunk with Geordie
twice in a 6 month span!   I need to prepare my
liver and get it in shape to keep up with
 him!
So.   Sounds like they bailed on The
edge Roundhouse 3LP and posted on their website but what
about the print and T Shirt in the Mega Bundle?
  that's what I ordered.

 Oh...btw.   They Lyric Book did
come.  it's very nice and well made.   I
know it's expensive but if you're on the fence
procrastinating...don't do it too long...the back inside
cover says limited to 200 copies.   Since they
posted on their Facebook page obviously the boom will be
less of an enigmatic purchase if u want one.
It's well made.  Nice little KJ bible!

 cheers.     Anthony

Just getting into this band, picked up both albums and
really liking them.  Jools Holland performance I saw
late last year sold me on ?em. They're playing a round
of dates in the US in May, looks like the 5/22 show at The
Fonda in LA will be my first show of 2019. Hopefully it
won?t clash with rumored KJ date in LA around the same
 time.

I remember fleetingly discussing them with Rob Moss and some
others back in November when I was over there, but
what's everyone's take on the Bristol band, IDLES,
whose latest album JOY AS AN ACT OF RESISTANCE even caught
the attention of the Brit Awards (although they did not win
 -- probably for the best).

I realize there's a bit of backlash about their
"authenticity" as working class (spearheaded by
the Sleaford Mods and the Fat White Family), but as far as
I'm concerned, they make great, bracing music and look
like they put on a damn entertaining live show. But, again,
 results may vary.

 What say you all?

 Cheers,
