That might also be down to an exhibition currently taking place at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, called Rip It Up - the Story of Scottish Pop (it started on the 22nd June).  There is an accompanying BBC Scotland series with the same name and there will be live performances too.
Both the Skids and Big Country are included, with Stuart's daughter loaning his guitar amongst other items.

Seems a big uncalled-for from Jaz.  Big Country were never my cup of tea (though I quite liked the track of the same name) but sheesh there were plenty of other far worse bands.
