I get what you're saying but he's trying to be respectful to the people
that have influenced him. Grohl comes from the DC hardcore punk scene,
specifically the band Scream, before Ian Mackaye recommended him to a young
group, on the opposite coast, Nirvana. That was 30 years ago, a very very
long time, so he's been around the block a long time now himself.
