Wakeling and Ranking Roger have a licensing agreement where Dave only tours North America as "The English Beat starring Dave Wakeling" and Roger stays in the UK as "The Beat feat. Ranking Roger." Not to be confused with the '90s amalgamation "Special Beat," neither "Beat" version includes any other remotely original members.

Great news.  I've heard a few of these tracks live in recent years, and wondered if they'd ever make it onto a studio recording - definitely good stuff.

And The Beat are still a real treat live.

Finally, after 30 years and god knows how many tours flogging teh same old songs, The Beat have a new album.
