Not really relevant to this list, but a big deal nonetheless...

A few crazy scenes here in Minnesota, both downtown at First Avenue and at Paisley Park studios in Chanhassen (SW suburbs about 45 minutes from downtown) with streets blocked off as people leaves flowers and pay homage. He was a big fish in a small pond here; I can only imagine what will happen when Dylan dies.

I worked at First Avenue in 1988 a few years after "Purple Rain" and we were constantly accosted by foreign tourists who would ask, "Is Prince here? Can we just go inside and look around a little?" It was disappointing for them to hear that the guy hadn't set foot in the place since 1985 and that he probably wouldn't be attending that evening's Laibach concert.
