I got to the venue late due to traffic so missed Wobble which was a pisser
On the walk down managed to say howdy to woody, get a photo with that French bastard and then assault Jon Chapman. Was a shame not to spend more time finding gatherers
Was stuck at the edge downstairs and the sound was great except for no bass. Just a rumble. But then youth was using some new pedal which was shit ( remember the feedback when Geordie went nuts?)
I found the venue too big for KJ and I just didn't get into it even though they played great. Jaz's vocals were good except for Panopticon which was awful. Paul's drumming was immense. The snare sounded like a rocket launcher and Geordie just makes the guitar look effortless.
Was pleased with the inclusion of new tracks and TTR but the start of the set was all chuggy which I found a bit tiresome but I did loosen up. Oh. Yes. Ther was a prick of a bloke to our left who annoyed me. An accidental kick to the back his legs sorted that one.
After the gig I caught up with Colesy and had a bite to eat and bumped into Mik on the way to the car. Had to cut our chat short which was a shame.
Whilst taking Colesy home we passed the venue and saw Jaz skulking by a wall. Stopped to offer a lift and he was in a foul mood. His taxi hadn't come. Then his daughter and girlfriend arrived and as I had a car full already, the lift didn't happen. Jeez was he pissed and was frankly fucking rude to Mike Coles but I guess he was just venting to an old mate. He was gracious enough to me though.
And then Big Pail sauntered round the corner. Made my evening as I hadn't had a chance to see him and we always get on well. He gave me and the Mrs a lovely hug and we had a brief chat. Complimented him on the show and said " could here youth" to which he replied "good" and departed laughing away.
Missed so many of you lot though which was a real shame. There were some old friends in town I had t seen for years
Next time huh?
