[kj] Ski Patrol reissue with Coles artwork

Very well put. Except whenever I try to describe them they always sound
like a (very good) pub rock band,
and they were so much more than that. One of the best rhythm sections I've
ever seen/heard. And singer Bill Carter
was both a superb guitarist and a great lyricist. He also had a thoroughly
menacing stage presence, that
1000 yard stare thing going on. I still listen to their songs all the time
but most of my love for them was
down to the live show - I rank them up there with Killing Joke and a few
others as my all time favourite live band.
Just a classic power trio. But yes, go for Gun Shy and Good and Gone.

You get a vague idea here, them doing Sweet Water Pools live:

and two of my favourite tracks, Twin Cadillac Valentine

and Wild Blue Yonder

Unfortunately they blew it, or lost it, or something... signed to Warners,
Bill (allegedly) had his head in a bag of coke,
plus they suffered the horror of the novelty hit - the song I Wanna Be A
Flintstone, which is
otherwise a great song, got attached to that god awful Flintstones movie.

Funnily enough, just heard from a friend a few weeks ago that Bill Carter
has come in from the
wilderness and is writing songs again...
