The Ancient Yazidi religion pre-dates Christianity, Islam and Judaism, and they worship Melek Taus, the peacock angel who is identified with Shaytan, the Arabic for Satan. Currently, the Yazidi (Yezidi) are in the news for being persecuted and murdered by "ISIS" (Jees! what a name for Islamist militants!). Like Hindus, the Yazidi believe in reincarnation, and incorporate Sun worship and the beliefs of Zoroastrianism and Sufi Islamic mysticism.
I hope the 50,000 Yazidi Kurds trapped on a mountain in northern Iraq can be saved and given humanitarian assistance.
