Killing Joke Wellington Show AnnouncedMonday, 6th May 2013 1:46PM

Killing Joke have just announced the addition of a Wellington date to their upcoming New Zealand tour. In February the band announced their first ever New Zealand show to take place at The Studio in Auckland. Both shows are part of their singles world tour so you're guaranteed to get all the hits we have missed over the years. Here are the tour details...
Killing Joke
Thursday 13th June, The Studio, Auckland
Friday 14th June, Bodega, Wellington
Tickets for both shows are on sale now from HERE at Undertheradar and Wellington tickets are also available via Rough Peel Music and Slow Boat.

KILLING JOKE ANNOUNCE 2nd SHOW IN WELLINGTON
Killing Joke are set to perform a second show in Wellington this June, Friday 14th at Bodega in Wellington.
Jaz Coleman said today “Well, we never had anybody ask us to play in NZ, and we are looking forward to playing both shows. The world tour has been a blast so far, we are currently about to play our last show of the American leg in Los Angeles tonight.”
The original, essential Killing Joke line-up of Jaz Coleman, Youth, Geordie and Paul Ferguson have been touring on the back of their new record – The Singles Collection, released in NZ this week. A real feast for any gatherer or KJ fan – featuring their favourite tracks from 1979 – 2012, plus a bonus CD of previously unreleased material.
It seems extraordinary that it has taken this long for Killing Joke to play here, particularly since their leader, the ever-mercurial Jaz Coleman, has lived here on and off since the mid-eighties and even became a citizen in 1995. When he is in residence, legend has it that he lives in a one-room shack on an island in the Hauraki Gulf. Occasionally he will venture out to produce the likes of Shihad or Hinewehi Mohi, and the NZ Symphony Orchestra – or other projects of the sorts.
Alt-heroes of the eighties, with their roots in spiky post-punk, the band's seminal hits 'Love Like Blood', 'Kings and Queens' and 'Eighties', along with something of a notoriously unnerving and in-yer-face live show, encouraged many other emerging bands to carry the torch, including Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Foo Fighters, Faith No More, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein and Tool. Killing Joke's 'beautiful heavy sonic nihilism' continues to inspire thanks to a series of essential albums released in the last few years.
Their 2013 tour promises to be something of a 'Singles Hits' endeavour, but from a band whose last priority is bothering the charts, you can expect to hear everything you would expect to hear.
