always encouraged us to experiment, so on one of the shows we had 
Killing Joke sharing the same bill as Cliff Richard. And I remember 
Cliff standing in the audience with his hands over his ears while 
Killing Joke soundchecked, and then he turned me straight after and 
said, "They were really quite good weren't they Malcolm?"
