[kj] KJ triple bill tour

Bit early for an April fool ain't it?!!  Always thought Mission were shit, meself, apart from Serpents Kiss, probably cos I loved Sisters so much & was gutted when they spilt, although generally much prefer early Sister singles to the debut LP which was slight dissapointment as seemed to offer commercial conformity (Husseys doing?).  As for Cult, again loved SDC, Death Cult but after Electric no thanks .  Seem to remember them trying to be Led Zep.

As for new KJ LP quite excited by it, thought couple of new tracks at Roundhouse were interesting, the one with the change in rhythm & also the one with Kali Yuga sort of gtr sound.  Should be miles better on CD hopefully.  Quite amazing Ministry & KJ both having new LPs out & PIL playing live at this moment. Plenty of sounds to damage thyself with!!

Also, all on-line reports I've seen have this as a Cult headline tour with "support" from Mission and KJ.

I thought Youth said that Jaz had given up money?

Yep; sucks to say but based on sales and visibility, KJ is the first opener on this tour, followed by Mission and the Cult. I doubt they would go with rotating line-ups.

Going on worldwide record sales and pulling power, I'd guess Cult headlining and
KJ first on stage, while most of the crowd are buying pints/merch/having a last fag outside.

After 30 years of sticking with it far be it from me to begrudge KJ any opportunity to earn a
wage - I presume they'll get a decent payoff for doing this? - and I guess this is reality
intruding onto the artistic pedestal we all put KJ on. But this still leaves a slight sour taste,
as does them appearing low down on a festival bill of identikit death metal muppets. I'd go
if it was down the road but I won't be jumping on a plane for this one.

As someone else said, what's the running order? Neither the Cult or the Mission are the concert draws they used to be. I would hope the Joke would be top billed, but then, I'd never have believed they'd support Motley Crue either, until it actually happened.

When was the last time KJ played stadiums/arenas on their own?

Jim.

Well, there's a strong connection with The Cult as Youth produced their last album in '07.  It also gives KJ exposure to a
(hopefully) wider audience with minimal effort as they'll only have to play a 45 minute set.  The Cult are putting out a new album
in May and from the bits and pieces heard, it sounds promising.  If they did this lineup in the States, I'd definitely go see it.
