They all have presence- I agree Youth has the KJ groove, fortunately /
greatly, BPF enhances the rhythm section!!!

"Personally, I rate Youth. I think he's plugged into Killing Joke's
rhythm..."

That's a good quote. One for the archive.

(Back to Youth for a moment. I think Youth looks quite cool, personally.
White suit, visor, and an aura of control. I think he secretly runs the
show, pulling Coleman's strings.)

Someone brought this up post-gig in Bristol and Geordie said something like
"There's no need to jump around. Can you imagine how Angus Young feels now
when a tour is booked "Ah fuck!!!"". Cue much laughter.

I thought this sums it up nicely from the write up Daniel just posted:
"while Geordie, patrolling off to the left, calmly stroked out some of the
biggest noises in the history of rock guitar, some savagly riffy, others
grinding, moronic, lethal."

I've never seen KJ live -- had tickets, and everything, for the Austin
show, until they flaked due to "illness" -- but from vids I have always
kinda liked Geordie's stage presence. Like in the 2005 DVD where he's
casually playing these brutal riffs with a cigarette hanging from his
mouth, in his army hat, occasionally taking swigs of whiskey. I thought he
looked like a pretty cool dude.

Of course, no one beats Jaz for stage presence, but since he's the front
man that's how it should be.

First time I saw KJ was 1983, i.e. after Raven had arrived. It was over a
decade until I saw Youth on stage with Jaz (sadly by then minus Big Paul)
and I thought he provided the perfect foil for Jaz. Made me realise how
much they lost when he left in '82.

Then a few years ago I saw Transmission, featuring Big Paul and Youth -
first time I'd seen the original KJ rhythm section together, and it was
awesome. Again it made me wish I'd seen the original line-up.

Personally, I rate Youth. I think he's plugged into Killing Joke's
rhythm...
