Talked to a few people in the know about this gig (was supposed to be on today), basically what happened was an overzealous promoter had booked the venue and organised the tickets, but never told band or band management, so was nothing to do with the band at all (this time), no consolation to them that lost out, but good to know it was not bands fault.

 

Jon and Stephane, are you two in Dublin this weekend still? Drop me a line off list should you be at a lose end and fancy hooking up for a pint J

Unfortunately I've had a double confirmation that the Dublin's gig on the 2nd march 2012 WON'T happen....

1) John Mac (irish and very very nice guy) who was the sound engineer and manager of the last tour wrote an email this morning confirming he was sure that it wouldn't happen ...

 

2) had a phone call this afternoon with Matt Luxon (manager) confirming the bad news and saying that the only confirmed dates were the ones on the official website and that they had said it to the Button Factory many weeks ago ( so why advertisement on their website and tickets on sale on Ticketmaster I asked but he did'nt knew why...

 

So i would be very careful with Barcelona & Firenze ...

 

As i had already booked my flights i will loose around 250/300€

The 2012's tour begins well....

Sorry Paul we won't meet each other in Dublin where i had never been (very disappointing)

See you maybe in London

Point taken and I guess  with past record of doing this, care should be taken if travelling to Dublin for it. 

 

 

The last time they played here, it was the same, no mention on the official site, but with the support band saying cancelled and Youth not knowing about it, it does sound ominous L

I sent Youth a message on Facebook about the gig. He simply replied "This is news to me." And I've been told by one of their long term roadies that no contracts have been signed for Dublin.

I'll probably wait for a bit. Killing Joke have a terrible habit of postponing/cancelling gigs at the last minute: Hosannass... tour was postponed because of "psychiatric problems" supposedly.
