[kj] Jaz Originally Outvoted To Do Cult tour

Actually the Ramones had more diversity between albums than people think (not including the 1st 4 of course).

Precisely. I quite like pretty EVERYthing (yes, that includes WITH SYMPATHY) the band did prior to FILTH PIG -- each album seemed like an evolution from the last. But around FILTH PIG (and beyond) they seemed entirely stuck in a rut and kept writing the same album. That works for some bands (AC/DC, The Ramones, Motorhead, etc.), but not Ministry.

I'd be hard pressed to find half a dozen songs from the post-Psalm 69 albums that I'd happily listen to. Given that they've released 6- or is it 7?- albums since then, that's an astonishing drop in quality. Jim. From: Alexander Smith <vassifer at earthlink.net>

With due respect to Raven and Tommy, Ministry ran out of ideas circa FILTH PIG.

I like(d) Ministry but the last couple tours before Al Jourgensen "retired"
were pretty mediocre and from what I heard about some of the shows they've
played on the current tour, they (as mostly Al) were pretty terrible.? But
they were pretty awesome back in 1990 and even during the following Psalm 69
tour.

Musically this is one of their better ones, overdriven guitar, good riff,

To say there' s no "metal" in Killing Joke is, sorry, an oversight. For a
start, the band would entirely cop to being influenced by it. Droves of
metal bands have cited them as an influence. Seriously -- you can't hear the
metal heaviosity in, "Pandemonium" or "The Wait"?

Obviously, the Joke are not SIMPLY a metal band, but they're not SIMPLY a
punk band or SIMPLY a post-punk band (cue debate over that definition) or
SIMPLY an industrial band (although, personally speaking, I've never
understood how they got lumped in with industrial). They defy
categorization, and proudly so.

Killing Joke -- unpigeonholeable, just how it should be.

There's a lot of KJ that has metal overtones, and there's nothing wrong
with that. "The Wait," "SO36," the music in "Tabazan." I always liked that
Killing Joke would incorporate some aspects of this in their sound, and try
to bend influences from that genre, to their will, as it were.

Something was f'ed in the stars for me that week , I'm serious-- my gf was
trying to get me to take her poison , def leppard, and lita ford- I put in
for press passes and thankfully didn't hear back - had another friend who
wanted me to get passes for Scorpions 2 days later and I conveniently
forgot -- and then somehow I wound up at dream theater 2 days after totally
random..
It's like I had to burn some odd karma off one way or another

Two mails purportedly from me have appeared on the list this week with no
subject and no text, just a link to another site (which I haven't tried and
know nothing about).

One of the mails is several mails below this one.

Can anyone else see them or is it just me? Am I responsible for the list
going down earlier this week?

Help!

Once again, say what you will about the Mission's music or Wayne's

in my opinion, at least.
