And for what it's worth, didn't buy any tickets and had no intention of
going to any of the gigs until they dowsized venues and only then I
considered London.? I was happy they'd be on first because I'd have left
straight after!
?
Ministry and Killing Joke? now that could work

No it couldn't. Ministry suck. No matter who's in the band. They should've

++++++++++++++

I like(d) Ministry but the last couple tours before Al Jourgensen "retired"
were pretty mediocre and from what I heard about some of the shows they've
played on the current tour, they (as mostly Al) were pretty terrible.? But
they were pretty awesome back in 1990 and even during the following Psalm 69
tour.

How about posting a DT link? =)

Musically this is one of their better ones, overdriven guitar, good riff,
eastern twiddly bits etc. That Pepper needs to stop whining about ennui and
sexual frustration in his songs though...what do you expect when you wear a
mullet for 3 decades you nonce?

Here's what I keep thinking metal sounds (& should sound) like.

(gratuitous YT clips follow):

BUT I might be wrong. I'm not well-versed in all the different genres,
subgenres of metal

Weird, KJ get hassled for being ?chugga chugga metal by numbers? e.g. on
2003, then some claim they?re ?not metal?

THIS is metal:

To say there' s no "metal" in Killing Joke is, sorry, an oversight. For a
start, the band would entirely cop to being influenced by it. Droves of
metal bands have cited them as an influence. Seriously -- you can't hear the
metal heaviosity in, "Pandemonium" or "The Wait"?

Obviously, the Joke are not SIMPLY a metal band, but they're not SIMPLY a
punk band or SIMPLY a post-punk band (cue debate over that definition) or
SIMPLY an industrial band (although, personally speaking, I've never
understood how they got lumped in with industrial). They defy
categorization, and proudly so.

Killing Joke -- unpigeonholeable, just how it should be.

There's a lot of KJ that has metal overtones, and there's nothing wrong
with that. "The Wait," "SO36," the music in "Tabazan." I always liked that
Killing Joke would incorporate some aspects of this in their sound, and try
to bend influences from that genre, to their will, as it were.

Something was f'ed in the stars for me that week , I'm serious-- my gf was
trying to get me to take her poison , def leppard, and lita ford- I put in
for press passes and thankfully didn't hear back - had another friend who
wanted me to get passes for Scorpions 2 days later and I conveniently
forgot -- and then somehow I wound up at dream theater 2 days after totally
random..
It's like I had to burn some odd karma off one way or another
