Ha ha too true – the “latest” album has being going on since god knows – they did have Adrian Sherwood in the frame at one point but I am not entirely sure if that would have worked as much as I like him!!  I think Roger wants to do the producing etc. himself but he is never satisfied with what he has.  I know that he has built an amazing recording facility in his house but never seems to get close to doing the album.  He was in touch with Geordie for a while who sent him some guitar tracks but nothing became of that.  He does love the live shows and he does dj alot – plus he has his roller blades so he is happy.

STILL working on that album? Kick his arse will ya! Their first album is just one of the best ever. Love em.

In case there are any other Beat fans – they have re-released all three albums – about time and I have only got the first one so far but for a tenner it is excellent in case anyone had doubts. Disc two has the early singles and some sessions and some superb dub and other mixes and the DVD disc has two vids, five TOTP appearances and a live show from 1980.

 

Well worth the cash.
