Maybe they should raise their taxes like Sweden? The happiest people on the
planet, supposedly..with one of the highest tax rates.

So, a question for the list. Where do you think has had the best balance of
equality and freedom in the last 100 years or so?

New Zealand used to top some of the OECD charts on health and standard of
living, now we top the charts on child abuse, binge drinking, cannabis
convictions, and suicide. Er. It's still a fantastic place to live in
general, but there's some underlying problems related to poverty.it's like a
lot of things, you have a picture of a place but the reality is a bit
different than the tourism ads.



On a lighter note, it reminds me of how Trailer Park Boys opened my eyes to
Canada, for some stupid reason I thought of the place as all Grizzly Adams
and Ice Hockey and lovely people with maple leaves on their backpacks, not
