The venue has shut down and is going to be sold off!!!
Thank you very much Nicholas. I am really sorry you were disappointed. The organizer had been doing these shows there for years, when the landlady/licencee died end of last year. Yet still the shows went on. The news only hit same time as I've told everyone. Several other shows he had lined up have been cancelled. Lots of peformers left busking on the pavement.
So not only will we be doing it elsewhere but if it all goes okay and gets a good reception, you should get more than one chance to see it. I want to try and make a continuing poe-ject of it. Poe's words, not a lot of made up autobiography. As much as he wrote about himself, or others who knew him, as I can get. Synths, guitar, roving ghosts and lots of my images projected backstage. Poems, story, Poe. Who was he? His Wife called him Eddy and his cat sat on his shoulders as he wrote at home. He loved swimming, sports as a youth, and graveyards.. A state of eternal conflict was all that he found. Don't you know that the Earth is dying? But lift up your spirits with Poe. Lets all go and find the truth and beauty of loss and death, and know the love that once we had though it is long gone beneath the cold, damp earth.
Paul. x

I was going to come to this and had even signed up 3 pals. At a ticket cost of £3 that means you have missed out on earning (er, £3 x 4 people, or to put it another way, if 4 people go to a show and each spends £3 on a ticket, then the people doing the show earn...) £15.
Oh well, let us know when its back on.

POSTPONED! Seriously, due to death.
Poor old pub staff had so many bereavements recently that it became impractical to open the joint on the night. Bit tasteless too I'd say.
Spooky, eh?

EDGAR ALLAN POE AND FRIENDS.
Born 1809, died 40 years later. Conan Doyle and Jules Verne said they'd be nowhere without his inspiration. Never dating, always fresh, but do you really know Edgar Allan Poe?
My big Poe show is on the Montague Arms on the 12th January at 830. New Cross pub. All the details to be found upon Hop - Frog's link below.

I perform with some support too, I am humbled to say. So far, 5 poems, one story and two songs, in amongst a sea of biography.
Poetry, story, images onstage, synthesizer and guitar music and some singing, with a little bit of Morrissey. Love lost, beauty faded to death.
Think you know Poe?
Aha...
Poe lives. X
