But actually I agree with my northern namesake - each KJ album was clearly Killing Joke, but also a radical shift from the previous album. It was an astonishing progression...


you never knew what you were going to get.

Mercifully no "chugga-chuuga-SHOUUUUUUT! chugga-chuuga-SHOUUUUUUT!" which frankly got very boring very quickly.


Ravens untimely death seems to have focussed everyone & brought an end to the mindless drunkenness & brought about a fitter, leaner more coherent killing joke
& the return of youth & BPF seems to have softened the sound a little & steered them back away from the 'metal' tag.
Brutal & heavy was nice for a while but it got a bit too samey.
For me the joy of early KJ was no two recordings sounded the same - it was that anticipation when you bought a new release as you never knew what you were going to get.


Once again, fingers crossed..
